When I was just learning to drive, I was pretty sure I was Superman. It did not ever cross my mind that I could be involved in an accident. I was a good driver, and I didn’t drink. My parents insisted that I get an Ontario car insurance policy that provided above average coverage.

I protested. I was sure I would never need it; they were taking my meager income and making it almost nothing. I was pretty sure I was just going to just rebel and face the wrath, but my friend hit another car. His parents didn’t know that he hadn’t paid his insurance. Now? He is paying more than double and will be for years. Insurance goes up if you are a liability. I think I will stick to my current rate.
